Dr Deabate was born in 1982 in Turin, Italy.

He studied at the University of Turin where he graduated in Medicine in 2007 with first class honours.

He then continued his specialization in Switzerland, at the Hôpital Universitaire de Genève (HUG), where he completed a specific training in prosthetic knee and ligament surgery under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. J. Menetrey (former president of ESSKA).

At the end of 2015, he moved to Lugano to pursue the project of creating a specialized knee surgery pole at the Multisite Hospital Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC) and, in 2019, he assumed the role of cantonal leader of the knee team created over the 4 EOC hospitals in Canton Ticino.

At the same time, Dr Deabate collaborates with the most prestigious companies in the biomedical sector to develop new surgical techniques and state-of-the-art implants. He is a consultant and KOL (Key Opinion Leader) for Depuy Mitek on implants and surgical techniques for arthroscopic and minimally invasive or primary and revision arthroscopic surgery, as well as a lecturer at international courses in basic and advanced knee surgery.

Dr Deabate is involved in the development of next generation instrumentation for robotic prosthetic knee surgery and is a prolific scientific contributor with his hospital's research team, publishing in prestigious international peer-reviewed journals in the field.

For several years, Dr Deabate has been working on a project to create a centre for the treatment of arthrofibrosis of the knee, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible care for patients with these problems, developing different algorithms for selective and minimally invasive surgery or minimally open and open surgery, depending on the case.
