Pain Management

Pain Management

Our studio is connected to a pain management service with specialist doctors for the optimization of pain management both in the pre-surgical and/or rehabilitative phase and in the post-surgical rehabilitation phase (pharmacological approaches, neural blocks, management with progressive release of anesthetic via nerve catheters, etc.).

In pain management, some recommendations are important:

  • It's important to get tested early by a rheumatologist to get the correct diagnosis. Good pain control is important as there are many interactions between the nervous system and the immune system
  • there may be more systemic features in the inflammatory process that need to be treated
  • people with autoimmune conditions, including diabetes, are at a significantly higher risk of developing arthrofibrosis
  • early postoperative medications to reduce inflammation and fibrosis can prevent the feedback loops that create chronic fibrosis
  • in addition, good sleep, diet and stress reduction are very important.
