Psychological Support

Psychological Support

Orthopedic complex pathologies such as knee arthrofibrosis can be an unforeseen life-changing event. Serious and long term recovery requiring injuries can lead to psychological distress. Physical rehabilitation has traditionally focused on addressing functional deficits, but important psychological factors also can dramatically affect acute and long-term recovery. An effective psycological intervention for distress reduction in case of knee arthrofibrosis can play an important role for participation in rehabilitation ans its success. Patients affected by this knee pathology frequently face frustration, depression, and anxiety, all of which interfere with functional gains and quality of life. Early identification of patients with distress can help care teams provide the resources and support to offset the distress. Several options help knee arthrofibrosis patients to navigate their recovery including holistic approaches, coping skills, mindfulness, peer visitation, and educational resources. The long-term physical and mental health of the patients can be enhanced by further strategies connecting the affected patients with a network of people with a similar pathology and facilitate support groups.

Our team includes a psychologist who can support the knee arthrofibrosis patients journey.

Medical Coaching is not a substitute for medical or psychological therapy. It is a process to develop emotional, mental and physical resilience in the event of crises and/or medical challenges. Whether you are an individual, a physician or a professional caregiver, adversity comes unannounced and unexpectedly.

Medical Coaching accompanies you in facing and coping with these adversities.

Why choose Medical Coaching?

  • to explore new perspectives
  • to deal with acute, chronic, invisible illnesses, pre- and post-operative, organ transplantation, medical related trauma, acute or chronic stress.
  • to increase emotional agility
  • to manage stress
  • to discover new strategies
  • to set responsible and healthy goals
  • to increase therapeutic adherence

Medical Coaching involves individual sessions to be agreed with the client.

Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping)

Dealing with chronic pain can be very challenging because strong emotions lie behind the pain. This is precisely why in Medical Coaching EFT is used for issues related to physical suffering in the form of emotions.

An effective and simple way to find serenity and unlock your emotions is the Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping).

Tapping is used to treat insomnia, headaches, tiredness, anxiety and any physical suffering and emotional state. Tapping with the fingertips on certain points of the body stimulates the body's energy system and as a result of this stimulation, cortisol levels are reduced and negative emotions are released.

In the first coaching session the coach and the client work in mirror. The coach repeats words by tapping on specific points on the body and the client does the same thing. This way the client learns the basic EFT technique and can use it alone when they wish.

Caregiver coaching

If you are a person who voluntarily and gratuitously cares for a family member, a partner or a friend, who is unable to take care of themselves, then you are a CAREGIVER.

Quite often the physical and emotional impact of caregiving is underestimated and caregivers have a higher stress level because they are always on duty and available.

Caregiver Coaching has been created to give these clients a voice.

Our team includes a Professional Certified Medical & Caregiver Coach who can support the knee arthrofibrosis patients and caregivers' journey with in-person and online sessions in Italian, English, and French.

There are only four kinds of people in the world: those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers.
